CCP was established in 2005 thanks to a three year grant from the RANK Foundation.  Since then the organisation has developed and  has secured over 700k in grant income which has enabled the organisaiton to employ six full time members of staff.

In June 2006, following consultation with partners, CCP commissioned Sustain Consultancy to undertake research into the needs of Minority Ethnic Communities. The research identified a number of key priorities for action, which included:

A local and low cost translation and interpreting service

CCP response: Worked in partnership with Pen Green, Home Start, and Corby Welfare Rights/CAB to develop a Volunteer Translation and Interpreting Project. Funding was secured from Lloyds TSB for a two year project December 2006 – December 2008. This project has now developed into CITRUS.

Specialist Information and Support Service

CCP response: In June 2008 we began a one year pilot project. For more information on this project please go to the Information and Support Page:

Community Development Support

CCP response: At the beginning of 2008 CCP secured a five year grant from the Big Lottery for the deliver of a Community Engagement Project. In May 2008, we appointed two Community Diversity Officers to deliver the project. For more information on this project please go to the Community Engagement Page

Community Cohesion Activities

CCP response: A wide range of community cohesion activities have been delivered including:
