
History
CCP was established in August 2005 thanks to a three year grant from the RANK Foundation and Corby Borough Council.
CCP became active on the 1st March 2006, when the Project Manager took up their post. The principle activity was to support and deliver the initial “Trust in Corby” projects. The focus being on areas of community need in Corby and principally funded by the Rank Foundation.
Projects:
Team Challenge – Working in partnership with the Princes Trust on the delivery of Team and Construction challenges for people between 16 and 30 years of age.
Debt – Working in partnership with Corby Welfare Rights/CAB on the delivery of a Financial Literacy course. This is a pro active project aimed at breaking the cycle of personal debt.
Community Cohesion Fund – A Community Chest, which provided grants of up to £500 to small voluntary and community groups in Corby.
Park and Open Spaces – Working with a wide range of partners and the community this project enabled local projects to be developed which improved the local environment
Every Body Bus - Provided opportunities for voluntary and community groups to have paid and volunteer MIDAS trained drivers, thus enabling them to access the Mini Buses provided by Corby VCS.
Corby Challenge – Working in partnership with a wide range of agencies to deliver sports/ and creative arts workshops for young people 13 – 19 years of age during the school/college holidays.
Harmony and Respect – To develop activities which enabled all sections of the new and emerging Minority Ethnic Communities and the indigenous communities to share positive experiences in a none threatening environment.
